This year, Brooklyn Jesuit Prep is proud to be celebrating our 20th Anniversary. For twenty years, BJP has worked to change the life trajectories of the students we serve through a strong Jesuit education. On Wednesday, May 15th, we celebrated this milestone at Brooklyn Jesuit Prep’s 20th Anniversary Gala at the New York Athletic Club, honoring the USA East Province of the Society of Jesus. Since our founding in 2003, the generous support we have received from the USA East Province of the Society of Jesus has fueled much positive change for our school, and we were delighted to honor them on this evening. Accepting the Sr. Thea Bowman Award on their behalf were Rev’s Vincent Biagi, S.J., Kenneth Gavin, S.J., and Mario Powell, S.J., three men who continue to be instrumental in the growth of our school.
Joined by community members, former and current faculty and staff, and students, this was a remarkable evening as we celebrated our history and supported our students. We heard from alumni, reminisced about the history of BJP, and shared our bold vision for the future of our school.
Our Gala was incredibly successful, as we raised over $490,000 for our students. These funds will support our entire school program, and we are incredibly grateful to all who supported us. We would like to thank all of our gala sponsors for their generosity. We would also like to highlight our Gala Planning Committee for the hard work they dedicated to preparing for this special evening.
