Cultures Day

On February 28th, we celebrated Cultures Day. Everyone was invited to arrive dressed in clothing they felt most represented their culture. For some, this was traditional garb; for others, it was their country's flag. Cultures Day at BJP displays a resounding connection to our heritage and speaks to who we are as a school. We have an abundance of countries represented within our community. Our diverse faculty, staff, and student population creates a vibrant blend of experiences that make us more connected. We were thrilled to close our week and month by gathering to share these cultures and experiences
Black History Month

During Black History Month, we honor the pioneers who paved the way. Their work on civil rights and equality taught us to hold love and gratitude at the forefront of our actions. We asked our students how they celebrate the legacy of "love not hate." Their responses included "celebrate the good things that others do," "encourage enthusiasm," "be kind," and "lend a hand." Our scholars are reminded daily of their Grad at Grad principles, two of which are to be loving and committed to doing justice. We are proud of our students' commitment to these principles. We are grateful to those before us for their leadership.
Students of the Month

We are so proud of our Students of the Month for February 2025! Jade, Ayden, Tyler, and Deborah were recognized for their ability to show Curiosity. We encourage all students to be intellectually inquisitive. Asking questions and researching topics you feel passionate about allow for academic and personal growth. These four students showed initiative when searching for answers, learning more, and challenging themselves to dig deeper. Their investigative qualities serve as an example to their peers on ways to engage with and acquire new knowledge.
Saturday Program

Thank you to everyone who volunteered at this month's Saturday program, including our teachers and a group of alumni from Villanova University. Our day was filled with games, slime making, and a group lunch. Saturday Program is a key part of our students' experience at BJP. It allows them to spend time together outside classes and build deeper connections with their peers. It also allows us to strengthen our community bonds. We are lucky to provide our scholars with a dynamic program. We are so grateful to those who help make these days special for our kids.
Spirit Week

We celebrated Spirit Week here at BJP from February 10th to the 14th. This year's themes included Pajama Day, Twin Day, "Wonderful Wednesday" where students dressed as their favorite characters or celebrities, Decades Day, and "Festive Friday" for Valentine's Day where students came dressed in red, white, and pink. We were thrilled to see students' perceptions of our themes. Our school spirit shone through, many students even coordinated themed outfits on days other than Twin Day! Our faculty joined in on the fun, and we closed out the week with Advisory Games in our auditorium.
Warm Clothing Drive

Another core aspect of Jesuit teaching is the value of being men and women for others. We remind our students to care for their community by showing up for their needs. This winter, our school has spent time collecting items such as hats, scarves, gloves, and coats. Before their mid-winter break, some students volunteered to distribute the items to those in need. The drive helps us work towards providing resources to others and leading with love. We are proud of our students for helping keep others warm this winter season. We were overjoyed and grateful to see our community come together and make this drive possible.
