A Month of Service

Throughout the Lenten season, every student participated in grade level service trips.  Whether making and serving peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at St. John's Bread & Life soup kitchen (6th grade), visiting the residents at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation around the corner from BJP (7th grade), or helping lead after-school programs at the public elementary school across the street from BJP (8th grade), all students put into practice what they have been discussing in advisory: being committed to doing justice.

Towards the end of April, BJP students got a great example of older men and women for others as students from Fordham University helped tutor during the Saturday Program and alumni from Holy Cross organized a field day and school cleaning for Holy Cross Cares Day.  It was a busy month of service all-around.
