On Saturday, October 24, 2015, friends of BJP gathered at the Douglaston Club in Little Neck, NY to honor Brooklyn Prep graduate Peter T. King, U.S. Representative for New York's 2nd congressional district, with the "Ignatian Award."  Current students of BJP and alumni of Brooklyn Prep socialized and discussed similarities and memories of their Jesuit education, focusing on an education beyond just academics and care for the whole person.

BJP wrapped up its celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with a heritage luncheon.  Families brought dishes representing the 17 African, Caribbean, and Hispanic nations at BJP.  It was all very delicious!  Throughout the month, students from Ms. Malcousu's 7th grade English course gave presentations at assembly on noteworthy Hispanics, students came dressed in their traditional garb, and guest speaker Charlie Vargas inspired students with his life story of growing up to become a criminal defense lawyer.  Learn more about the many cultures that make up the BJP community by clicking here.
